An Open Letter From A Fellow Musician - Gordon Malboeuf

We want to thank Gordon for sharing this awesome letter with us.  Things like this keep us going.

To all my friends, family, and supporters:

Last year I discovered a group of young men on Beat100.com that really impressed me in a multitude of ways. These young men call themselves “Galvanized Souls” and I admit I was immediately drawn in by their name alone. As always, my intuition proved correct.

As a writer I am very much aware of the power of words and language. Let’s just look at the word “galvanized”...it has several meanings, all of which are appropriate adjectives for these young men and, the soul…

1. To stimulate or shock with an electric current.
2. To arouse to awareness or action; spur
3. To coat (iron or steel) with rust-resistant zinc – so as to protect from corrosion.

Galvanized Souls are not your typical teenage band, in fact they’re anything but that.
Their music resonated with me and I began to keep up with these “Galvanized Souls”.

As I watched Chris, Zakk, Matthew and Kevin, I observed their close involvement with numerous charitable organizations as well as our service men and women through their support of veterans groups but more importantly, and what impresses me the most is the awareness they bring, through their music and actions, to many of the social issues affecting our society today and particularly the younger members of our society.

Music is the universal language with the power to change the world and all of those in it. Galvanized Souls is a positive influence on all that come into contact with them and have changed the world, particularly “my world” as they have inspired me in my writings and getting more involved in my local community and the larger world.

By showing your support for these amazing young men you will be helping them to spread their positive message of self-worth across the globe. And the more the word gets out, the greater the potential to turn around the life of one more young person. So go to iTunes today and purchase their music and become an agent for change and awareness in the world.

My personal favorite is “Behind Green Eyes”, just amazing. (Behind Green Eyes

I am honored to know these young men and I want to personally thank Chris, Zakk, Matthew and Kevin for their friendship, inspiration and all that they do.

And thanks so much for the autographed year book depicting your first year in pictures and the awesome shirt. These will stay in my family forever. And lastly, guys…it’s not “if” it’s “when”…in my mind, you’re already there.

Stay true to who you are.

  1. Gordon,

So nice to read something positive about music and teens specifically. Kudos for the insights into just who these Galvanized Souls teens really are, a positive bunch they seem to be.
